SS Tubing offer corrosion resistance in polluted marine atmospheres and has outstanding intergranular corrosion resistance in the as-welded condition. In the annealed state, SS Tubing are non-magnetic, but as a result of cold working or welding, they can become mildly magnetic and have superior ductility and strength at cryogenic temperatures. SS Tubes also offer higher creep, stress-to-rupture and tensile strength at elevated temperature. SS can be used in harsher atmospheres, where pitting and crevice corrosion can occur by exposure to chloride or by solvents used in processing.
